<description>Happy belated birthday to John V

I share the guilt you feel about wasting things. To the point I hardly ever drive my car now...I fill up once every 5-7 weeks these days. I walk or take the bus or ride a bike as often as I can.

But I don't think we're tackling waste the right way. Me walking to work is not going to save the planet. Everyone walking to work is impossible.

Rather than expecting Govt to do anything why aren't we demanding that the businesses we deal with do the right thing...or we won't do business with them anymore? Rather than demand that governments regulate business let's cut out the middle man and regulate them ourselves via our wallets?

Why did McDonalds start serving healthy stuff? Customer demand. They saw that people were not coming in the door as much 'cos they're concerned about healthy food. Solution...give the people what they want. surely if enough of us are serious about this we could force businesses to change the way they use resources.
