A “what do you say” question, sorry I’m too lazy to email.
Background: I’m a guy (age 16) from Boston, MA, US. The girl in this story is about my age.
Story: At school, while I’m out in the hall during a break, a girl whole I very rarely (and really never interact) with see starts a conversation with me. Not a problem. After talking for a few minutes she says “Hey, I really like your hair.” What do you say to something like that? “I like your hair too”? I’ve always thought it was kind of weird to compliment somebody a) on their hair, but b) after they’ve complimented you about the same thing. What do you guys think?
Also, what does it really mean? “I like your hair”? I don’t even think about my hair, or take care of it beyond brushing it every few days. The same girl also said “I like your name.” a few hours later… Friendly? Flirty? Has a crush on me? Whatever.

I’d say she likes you. Girls don’t normally give compliments like that they like your hair and your name for no reason. She’s flirting.
It’s very uncool to repeat a compliment back to someone. If someone says you look nice, even if you think they look nice you shouldn’t say it straight away, find a way of saying it later on otherwise it just sounds insincere.
As for the fact that she likes your hair and you don’t even think about it, that I’m afraid is just the men are from mars, woman are from venus thing…
